Robotics Club

Pei Hwa Robotics Club plays an important role in Singapore’s Smart Nation initiative. In the Club, students innovate, think critically and work collaboratively with their peers in experimenting ideas and solving problems. They develop robot construction and programming skills through exposure to a variety of robotics platforms such as Cospace (Rescue, Autonomous Driving and OnStage), ESP32 and many more. The students were given the opportunities to compete in national and international competitions where they pitch their skills against the best to build and programme robots to complete assigned missions in the most strategic and efficient manner.

Student Testament
"Being part of the Robotics Club has truly been one of the most meaningful parts of my school life. What started as an interest in robotics, even since Primary school, slowly grew into something much more; an experience filled with learning, growth, and unforgettable memories. From testing our robots to facing challenges, every moment taught me the value of perseverance and resilience. What I cherish the most from the CCA would be the people I met along the way. The friendships formed through long hours of preparation, our shared struggles, and small victories, are something I will always hold close to my heart. I am also deeply grateful to our teachers and coaches, whose patience and dedication guided us throughout this journey. Their constant encouragement pushed me to step out of my comfort zone and grow, not just in skills, but also in confidence and character. In retrospect, the Pei Hwa Robotics Club has really shaped me in more ways than I expected. It has taught me to stay determined, to work with others, and to keep improving even when things get tough. As this chapter comes to an end, I feel both grateful and bittersweet, knowing that this experience and the people in it will always be a special part of me. Thank you!" Vice-President, Asher Leong
"Over the past 4 years in this CCA, I was able to learn many things related to robotics and leadership. The coaches are very helpful and patient and have allowed me to obtain a lot of insights that I would not have been able to without their feedback and guidance. Throughout the competitions I have attended over the years, I have also learnt to be resilient even if I keep failing which is an essential skill in today’s world. Through the various competitions, I have collected various experiences and mistakes that have helped me improve. Furthermore, the CCA has also given me many leadership opportunities, providing a platform for me to grow as a leader. Through this experience, I have grown more confident and competent in public speaking. Lastly, the CCA gave me a chance to work with schoolmates across levels, creating mutual experiences and friendships along the way. Overall, the CCA has developed me as a person holistically and I encourage others to join if you are interested!" Vice-President, Erlene Koh En
"Robotics Club provided me with many opportunities for growth throughout my four years of school. Through it, not only was I able to learn technical skills that I was interested in through our devoted instructor, but I was also given opportunities to grow as a leader. In Secondary 2, I was given an opportunity to be the Logistics Manager of the CCA. Through that, I began to push myself out of my comfort zone, learning to talk and communicate with others. In Secondary 3, I took on the official position as the secretary of the CCA. Through this, I was able to exercise my competencies at public speaking by speaking in front of the CCA and also develop key skills such as teamwork. Because of the various leadership roles I took on in the CCA, I was able to attend leadership camps in schools which then opened up even more opportunities of growth for me. It has helped me become a more confident speaker, something I never imagined I would be able to do. Through the weekly CCA sessions, I learnt the importance of being detailed and thorough in everything that I did. These 4 years have allowed me to cultivate friendships with my fellow EXCO members and teammates and it is something I want to cherish!" Secretary and Publicity Manager, Anya Koh Le
