Pei Hwa Talent Academy

The Pei Hwa Talent Academy is a talent development programme that aims to develop and nurture students who demonstrate a strong aptitude and talent in academic studies. This programme is a 3-year enriched curriculum specially tailored and differentiated for selected students who display strong passion, great aptitude and keen motivation in the various academic disciplines (English, Mathematics, Science and Humanities).
Our Goals
The Pei Hwa Talent Academy aims to fulfil the following objectives for student talents:
- exposure to advanced topics to stretch intellectual and analytical thinking,
- provide opportunities to develop individual strengths, interests, and potential in various academic disciplines,
- enhance critical competencies such as inventive thinking, collaboration and communication skills, and civic literacy, and
- develop future-ready skills to prepare for entry into Institutions of Higher Learning.

Core Features of Pei Hwa Talent Academy
1. Personalised profile
Each Student Talent undergoes strengths profiling to allow them to better understand their areas of strengths and preferred working and leadership styles. Through a workshop, student talents will learn to leverage on their strengths and how to further develop them, honing their unique talents as they learn and grow.
2. Specialised programmes
Student Talents undergo a specially tailored and differentiated after-school curriculum that goes beyond the standard syllabus to expose them to deeper concepts in academic domains. Through independent and problem-based learning, Student Talents have opportunities to develop self-discipline, communication and collaboration skills, and inventive thinking.
Teacher mentors provide close guidance and help grow Student Talents’ capabilities through tasks that stretch their intellectual rigour.
3. Educational and career guidance
Student talents have opportunities to gain valuable insights about the educational pathways open to them upon graduation secondary school through visits to and talks by institutes of higher learning. Teacher mentors will also guide them on their journeys of self-discovery as they gain greater awareness of their strengths and interests, and how they are relevant to future professional endeavours beyond education.
Approach and Process
Pei Hwa Talent Academy aims to provide opportunities and platforms for our student talents to excel in the various academic disciplines via the Excite, Experience and Excel approach.
1. EXCITE
‘Excite’ aims to provide Student Talents with opportunities to be exposed to learning beyond the standard curriculum, and to excite and inspire them to excel and work towards a purposeful goal in the programme. Some of the activities will include workshops, competitions, and learning journeys to external organisations or institutions.
2. EXPERIENCE
Student Talents will experience a series of customised and developmental programmes (e.g. research, competitions, workshops and learning). They experience various vendor-led and/or teacher-led workshops to equip them with various skill sets such as collaboration, communication, and presentation to prepare them for the future of work. These workshops are customised according to the readiness levels of the Student Talents.
3. EXCEL
In addition to developmental programmes, Student Talents will be given various opportunities to exhibit their learning during external competitions and showcases, building their portfolios and providing a benchmark with the best at national and international levels. Their achievements will be updated in the LEAPS. Student Talents will also be equipped with the knowledge to make well-informed choices for their post-secondary education, i.e. Direct School Admission to Junior Colleges.
