National Civil Defence Cadet Corps – A Choice Uniformed Group of Community First Responders

Our NCDCC cadets are always eager to Learn the essential Life skills encompassed by the Triangle of Life. These encompass fundamental firefighting techniques, proficiency in first aid and CPR+AED, enabling them to emerge as leaders who Lead within their respective tracks under the Specialisation Model. Once equipped with these skills, they Serve the school and the wider community through various public education initiatives, becoming advocates for Emergency Preparedness. As their journey progresses, their growth and achievements soar to new heights, culminating in their valuable contributions as Community First Responders. Throughout this transformative process, the Learn Lead Serve Motto serves as the guiding principle, shaping all training sessions and activities in NCDCC.
NCDCC seeks to develop and empower our youths to be active and concerned citizens who are advocates of life-saving skills

Student Testament
"I used to share the common misconceptions about uniform groups before I joined NCD. However, now as a Secondary 4 student that has stepped down, I have no regrets. NCD has benefitted me in various ways. For one, I have grown tremendously as a leader as I used to be someone who feared public speaking and lacked the skills to guide others. Due to the fact that NCD has given me multiple leadership opportunities, especially as a Unit Sergeant Major, I have gained much confidence in not only myself but my ability to be a competent and passionate leader. For instance, my experience planning the sequence for the Precision Drill Challenge 2026 as well as guiding the Precision Drill Squad was not an easy feat and there were many obstacles throughout the journey. Nonetheless, persevering through hard times is what builds resilience and our final placement was what made it all worth it in the end. In NCD, though tough times are inevitable, I have found family and a deep rapport with not only my CCA mates but my Teacher Officers, which is what I would say was the best part. NCD has been the most fun and fulfilling journey of my life!" Unit Sergeant Major - WO Natasha Maya Binte Mohamed Noor
"The most impactful experiences of my school life have come from NCDCC, and I am truly grateful for it. Through an array of experiential learning opportunities, NCDCC equips its cadets with both hard and soft skills which are especially important in a dynamic world. The ones I find most important include life-saving skills, effective communication methods, and leadership competencies. My time in the organization has broadened my horizons to worlds of knowledge, beyond the boundaries of a classroom and into global affairs. To illustrate, some events I have gone through are the NCO (Non-Commissioned Officer) course and the Hong Kong OEV (Overseas Educational Visit), leaving a lasting impact on me by instilling core values and strengthening my resolve. NCDCC has afforded me formative experiences that promote interdisciplinary education, allowing me to grow as a person, and not just in the conventional aspects expected of a Uniformed Group cadet. Looking back, it is ironic that NCDCC was nowhere near my top choices when selecting a CCA in Year 1, but the opportunities it has given me to grow, along with how it helped me make connections with many wonderful people, have really shown how it was the right decision." Regimental Sergeant Major - WO Jonathan Ho Ting Luke
"NCDCC has shaped me into who I am today. In the past, I was always shy, but through NCDCC, I have grown to be an independent and outspoken leader. Through the many different leadership opportunities and experiences like the Urban Search and Rescue course and other programs like teaching the public about CPR and lifesaving techniques, I have grown to be more self-confident. NCDCC allowed me to not only become more well-versed in my own knowledge on the different aspects of civil defence, but also allowed me to give back to my community and educate others. The most challenging aspect of my journey was when I had to plan the routine for the Precision Drill Challenge. It was difficult to plan a cohesive and engaging sequence while balancing my studies. However, the success in our competition and our placing of first solidified it as one of my most treasured and valued memories in my entire 4 years in Pei Hwa." Assistant Sergeant Major - WO Chua Han Yu
"NCDCC has given me many opportunities to grow both as a cadet and as a leader. As the ARSM of the CCA, I learned the importance of discipline, responsibility, and setting a good example for my peers and juniors. Through training and leading the contingent alongside my fellow cadets, I experienced the value of teamwork, commitment, and perseverance. One of the most memorable moments was participating in the annual Precision Drill Challenge, where our hard work paid off as we achieved 1st place in Singapore and made history for Pei Hwa. NCDCC also gave me the opportunity to participate in the National Day Parade, which was a truly unforgettable experience. Overall, my journey in NCDCC has helped me grow into a more confident, disciplined, and responsible person." Assistant Regimental Sergeant Major - WO Peck Jun Kai,Tyrus
